By digitizing its best before system, ICA Maxi Boglundsängen in Örebro saved 33 tons of food from being thrown away in 2019. "Food waste is a big issue, but it's really not just about that. Sometimes tiny changes can make a big difference, such as replacing the plastic bags in the vegetable counter with paper compost bags," says Joel Lundström, sustainability manager at the store.
